In early January, 2021, Aubie was found on the side of the road in Opelika Alabama, being passed by many motorists. One motorist with a huge heart pulled over and took Aubie to his home, posting on Facebook to anyone who would possibly help find his owner. Sadly, beyond emaciated, no one came forward to claim this sweet, skinny boy. Tristate Basset rRscue was contacted and of course we said ,"Yes".  Aubie was quickly rushed to the vet and it was found he weighed in at under 25 lbs. An amazing foster was found and the road to recovery has been long for this sweet patient boy.

Aubie stayed in Alabama until he gained some weight and was stable enough to travel up north.
His foster Dad and Mom cooked organic meals everyday for him, he had the best care with his Alabama family. Aubie has been through some extensive vetting and testing. Once up north his recovery continued to get his severely dried out paws, hair loss due to being covered with fleas, badly infected ears andto add more weight to him.

Aubie now has another wonderful foster family that give him all he needs to continue the daily regime to feel better and to enjoy a life filled with love, something it seemed was not the case in his prior life. He is on a long list of medications and prescription food, as well as home cooked healthy meals. He loves lots of attention and of course, those daily belly rubs. Aubie has doubled in weight and he is definitely on the uptick of a happy life.
