Join us for a fun-filled weekend that will include Search & Rescue displays, entertainment, other rescue groups, a Blessing of the Animals Service, kids games, a delicious barbeque, huge Chinese auction, dog contests, demonstrations, and hundreds of adoptable animals. As always, this is an event not to be missed!

Join your basset buddies in the heat of summer under the cool pines of Core Creek Park in Langhorne (Bucks County), PA.
Basset Games: Boxer Relay Race, Longest Ears, Best Costume and the hilarious Musical Beds!
Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Veggie Dogs and Veggie Burgers provided. Donations of sides, salads, specialities, bake sale items and raffle items are welcome. Volunteers are always welcome!

Join us as we return to the great location we used last year - Riverview Beach Park, right on the waterfront. Once an amusement park (1891 to 1967), today it is a beautiful family picnic park complete with a lake, a playground, tennis courts, a fountain, a gazebo and panoramic views of the Delaware River. This is a Pot-Luck picnic, so bring your favorite dish to share. Additionally, we will have plenty of hamburgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers available!
What's on tap:
  • All attendees will receive a thank-you gift for supporting the needy hounds of Tri-State Basset Hound Rescue!
  • Win great Basset-themed door prizes
  • Bring a photo of your hound(s), no larger than 4 x 6 inches, and sign the official Tri-State Basset Hound Rescue Guest Book! The book will travel from one event to the nextt - get your furkid in the book!

  • Enter your hound's favorite Basset Games: Musical beds, Longest ears, Boxer Relay Race and Lights Out

Paws for Fall: The Long Island Basset Olympics
October 10, 2009
Wantagh State Park, Wantagh, NY

This will be the 7th year for The Long Island Basset Olympics. Frolic with hundreds of Basset Hound lovers and test your Basset's skill at sprinting, jumping, weaving and climbing. Consult with experts on animal care. The Raffle table will be overflowing, the merchandise tent will be full and lunch is included in the admission fee.

The fine print: Please bring lawn chairs/blankets (some picnic tables are available), water for your hounds, proof of rabies vaccination, poop pick-up bags. Food and beverages provided for the humans. Basset wanna-be's (housemates of your Basset) are welcome to attend, but cannot participate in the contests. No admission tickets will be mailed; please check in at registration desk upon arrival.

Are you searching for companionship? Someone special to love? If so, stop by the Hudson Valley Humane Society at Pomona Park on Saturday, November 11th from 10-3pm for Pet Adoption Day. We have available friends ready to make a lifetime commitment. The question is, are you? Come and meet our lovable pets (dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, bunnies) as well as breed rescue groups: Tri-State Basset Hound, Metropolitan Maltese Rescue, Shetland Sheepdog Rescue and others. Join us for fun and raffles. Refreshments will be served so come and mingle.

  • International Pot-Luck Buffet: Bring your favorite dish for the Pot-Luck Buffet. (Please let us know what you would like to bring so we donOt have too many duplicates.) The wide variety and amazing dishes have been wonderful over the years. You won't go home hungry (and neither will the Bassets)!
  • Photos With Santa!: Special memories are always created with this traditional Howliday Party happening. Photos are always free!
  • Howliday Raffle: Huge variety of hound and holiday items to take a chance on - always a great selection.

Tri-State Basset Hound Rescue's First Ever


COMEDY NIGHT!

This fundraiser is sure to be a big hit with everyone, including those non-Basset loving friends, relatives and neighbors! The night will include 3 comedians from Comedy Blast, Inc. that will keep the crowd roaring in laughter throughout the evening. We will provide snacks for everyone and the Town & Country Inn will operate a cash bar.

There will also be a fabulous Raffle Table loaded with items for everyone (not just Basset people!). Door Prizes will be plentiful, including Special Door Prizes for those who choose to have dinner at the Town & Country Inn prior to our event. We will also have a 50/50 drawing for those who wish to try their luck at winning some cash. Doors open at 7:00PM, the show starts at 8:00PM. Tickets are $20 per person in advance and $25 at the door the night of the show. Note: We do have a maximum number that can be seated and we anticipate selling out, so please don?t wait until the night of the show to get your tickets - we don?t want to disappoint anyone! The one, the only BOARDWADDLE!
April 17-18, 2009, Ocean City, NJ



The 2009 BoardWaddle (our 11th!) will be held on Saturday, April 18. The bassets are the largest entry in the Ocean City, NJ, Doo Dah pawrade. The Annual BoardWaddle Basset Olympics will take place on Friday afternoon, April 17, followed by the Friday night Dinner/Pawction. Picnic and games follow the Pawrade.

A waddle is like a walkathon, only the hounds get the pledges and waddle to help their homeless friends of Tri-State Basset Rescue! We've had as many as 509 hounds. PLEASE BRING YOURS!

We send the packets in March. If you got a packet last year, or are on the Tri-State mailing list, you don't have to write! You'll get one! If you are not already on the packet list or have moved since last year, please send your name, address and telephone number to Dawn .

What�s on tap:

  • Come out and have a great time helping the homeless hounds of Tri-State Basset Hound Rescue. (www.tristatebassets.org)

  • Each entrant will enjoy 2 hours of bowling, each lane (4 bowlers) will be provided with pizza & a pitcher of soda. Shoe rental included.

  • If you do not have 4 bowlers you will be matched with other bowlers to make up a 4-person team.

  • A Raffle Table loaded with awesome items, some of which will be donated by event sponsors.

  • Prizes! High Game, Low Game, Red-Pin Strikes & more!!

  • You can bring your dogs!! They must be either leashed or in an x-pen at all times. (Dog are not allowed on the lanes or in the seating area.)

Thanks to some wonderful volunteers, this will be our 6th Spring picnic celebrating the best of the Basset Hound breed.
Come compete in one of six hilarious contests:

  • Best Costume

  • Loudest Howl

  • Lowest to the Ground

  • Best Kisser

  • Cutest Trick

  • Most Obedient

Costume Parade at 12 pm; all hounds in costume please line up around 11:50 a.m. Judging for the costume contest will follow immediately.
