Cakie here..three years since feyfey left me with the job of being BoardWaddle Hostess. One of the most pleasant things I get to do is to announce the Grand Marshall!! The GrandMarshall 2B waddles in the pawprints of her eight predecessors and will take over from the reigning Grand Marshall, Woodward Sack, on April 20, 2007! BRIE SHERWIN has graciously accepted her year of service and will serve as Grand Marshall 2007. Go BRIE !!!!

The
pawsition has vast duties, such as being crowned at the Basset
Olympics on Friday afternoon, greeting the public for hours on
end, wearing whatever
Auntie Dawn of the West dreams up for riding in the pawrade. One
must also
maintain order among the throngs of admirers and pose for pictures.
That is
before all the supermarket openings and day care center appearances.
This is
hard work. Brie has an extremely well developed bassetude and understands
that houndies are to be served....so it will be an exceptional
sacrifice for
her. 
Ms. Sherwin will be the first houndie
serving in this pawsition who was
adopted from BROOD in 1998 by Amanda Sherwin. She had been in two
homes, two
shelters and a foster home. Poor Brie's ears were scarred from
chronic
infection and she had both of her ear canal's removed
Life changed for Brie
upon her adoption. She relocated to South Hampton, NY
to rule the Sherwin home and made her BoardWaddle debut in 2000.
Diagnosed
with Addison's disease in 2001, she did not let it stand in her
way. By that
year she was a fixture in the amazing top 10 pledge fetchers. Brie
has
consistently brought over a thousand dollars in pledges, with the
total well
exceeding $7,000. Brie has proven very enterprising in obtaining
her
pledges. She drove the DROOLMBL on two virtual tours of the United
States,
visiting her Drool buddies and writing of her escapades in exchange
for
moolah for the paw hounds. She made her slave buy a pressing machine
and
hawk personalized basset crap. (She talked me into going on one
cyber trip!)
Then she made her slave work her fingers to the bone hawking basset
crap on
Waddle day. In addition, Brie observed her slave might have a few
minutes to
rest between waddles. She conspired with Grand Marshall 03 Maxwell
(ATB) to
make their slaves coordinate two events per year on Long Island.
Now 12,
Brie shares her home with a large pack of houndies and demonstrates
great
talent in slave training. Nicknamed the Tsarina, she enjoys dining
directly
from Amanda's fork. She has bootiful white fur and a wardrobe for
every
occasion.
For all of the above, Brie is the pawfect basset to lead BoardWaddle
2007.
She will be the first girl houndie to fill this pawsition since,
well, me.
(Wif my breeder slaves!) There have been many wonderful boy GM's....but
not
this year!
