Because
we adopt out so many Bassets (150-200 a year) many of them are matched
with approved adopters long before we can get them listed. For this
reason, we urge you to complete the Adoption Application
and go through the approval stages before you pick a dog on the
website. Often, by the time your application is received and approved,
the dog that attracted you may be adopted. At any given time, we may
have 30 to 60 dogs available, some of which are not listed here, so
please don't be disappointed if a dog you see here is no longer
available. |

MAXINE & SEAMUS
Maxine and Seamus are sweethearts who are in search of a loving family looking to add two snugglers to their home. This pair is good with other dogs and children and will bring much joy to their new family. Maxine is four years old and Seamus is three - plenty of years ahead of them for belly-rubs, howls and the Basset 500! Both are housetrained.

BADGER & GRIZZLIE
Badger (red and white) and his brother, Grizzle (tri-color) are out in the cold - literally! The boys stay outside during the day and the weather is getting very cold. The home they're in isn't able to spend the time with them that they used to so the boys need a new home where they'll be part of the family. Three year old litter-mates, Badger and Grizzle have lived together their whole lives. Badger has a lot of energy and loves to play. Grizzle is more easy-going and loves his belly rubbed. Can you please find a warm spot in your home and heart for these lovable boys? |

BRUNO
Sweet Bruno is approximately two years old and is sorely in need of a wonderful home. He was taken with two other dogs in an abuse case and needs to be loved and spoiled. He has fully recovered and has no medical needs at this point. Bruno is a gentle boy who would like to have a doggie companion. He seems to be good with everyone, although he hasn't been exposed to very young children so no homes with kids under 6, please. A little help with housetraining will probably be needed to help him acclimate to his new home.

SPARKY TOO
Sparky is an adorable Sheltie-Basset mix, about 10 years old. He is
afraid of other dogs and will require a very patient individual who can
provide the sense of security he needs. He was given up by his
previoius owners and was very confused when he came to rescue. Once he
is in a home without other dogs, he should learn to trust again.
Because he is somewhat fearful of new situations, an adult home is
recommended. This sweet boy deserves a calm home where he will know
that he is safe and loved. |

HONEY
Honey was a stray that had been hit by a car. She is well along the
healing process and ready to come into your home and hearts. Estimated
to be 9-10 years old, she loves snoozing on the sofa, being with you as
much as possible, and gets along great with other dogs and cats. She is
petite - only about 30 pounds right now, but the foster home is in the
process of putting additional weight on her. Honey's very special
sponsor is Cathy Brown |

SNOOPY AKA SNOOP DOGG
Snoopy is a hound mix who was probably dumped by his owners when they
didn't want him anymore. He was picked up by an animal control officer
in an area in which dogs are frequently abandoned, and no one came to
claim him. Sweet, eager to please, and a bit timid, Snoopy is
approximately 6 years old. He's currently in a foster home where he's
starting to settle in and feel comfortable. This gentle hound would do
well in a calm home where he'll be loved and know that he'll never be
abandoned again. |
