Tri-State Basset Hound Rescue takes in nearly 300 Bassets a year from the New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania and lower New York areas. At any one point in time, we will have 30 to 60 Bassets in our system. Some are in foster homes, some are currently with their owners waiting for us to place them and the rest need to be boarded in a commercial facility.Your generous donation helps us with the cost of medications, veterinary care, and kenneling. Volunteer!
We have many opportunities for people of all ages and talents to help the hounds in their own special way. The bassets need transporting, fostering, and home visits before they can find their Forever Homes. We also need folks to help at our fundraising events such as BoardWaddle, picnics, and parties that happen throughout the year. Learn more about all of our volunteer opportunities here.
Foster!
One of the critical volunteer positions for any rescue is the foster home. Foster families provide a home environment while evaluating the basset's personality and behavior around other dogs and pets, adults, and children. By observing and reporting on the basset's personality, attitude and temperament, the foster home is able to help our adoption coordinators place the hound in the right home. Come to an Event!
Attend our Fundraising events held throughout the year. From Comedy to Bowling to Golfing, or even picnics and parties, the hounds always come up with fun ways to increase awareness and raise the much needed money for the homeless bassets. And don't forget BOARDWADDLE - our biggest and best event of the year! Check out our event calendar and plan to come play with the hounds.

Tri-State Basset Hound Rescue now has an account with Viridian Energy! Viridian Energy offers high-quality renewable energy products that meet or exceed the proposed 2020 federal environmental goal of 20% renewable energy. For every person that signs up for Viridian as your 3rd party energy supplier, Viridian will donate $2.00 a month to TSBHR for as long as you're a customer.
Our goal is to sign on a minimum of 500 new customers. This will give Tri-State Basset Hound Rescue $1000.00 a month indefinitely!
- There is no cost to sign up & there is no contract to sign or cancellation fee.
- You just need your customer number (3rd page of your electric bill) & to contact Dana to set you up.
- You will start seeing savings in about 60 days. The only thing is, if you're on the budget plan, you can no longer be on it with the 3rd party energy supplier. *GOOD NEWS! Pennsylvania residents can remain on their existing budget plan!
- You're bill will still be through your electric company & if you have problems with your electric, that will still be who you would contact.
